Containerized Diesel Generator Set | Integrated Modular Mobile Power Station
Containerized diesel generator sets integrate the generator, fuel tank, control system, fire protection, and ventilation into a standard shipping container, delivering a plug-and-play modular power station. Power range covers 20kW to over 2000kW, ideal for data centers, mining sites, oil fields, temporary power supply, and overseas projects. This page covers technical architecture, cooling and noise reduction design, paralleling applications, selection parameters, and installation considerations to help you efficiently deploy power for your projects.
Containerized Diesel Generator Set: An Integrated, Modular Mobile Power Station
A containerized diesel generator set, also known as a “containerized power plant” or “container generator set,” integrates a high-quality diesel generator, day fuel tank, intelligent control system, automatic transfer switch (ATS), air intake and exhaust system, soundproofing, fire suppression equipment, and lighting into a standard shipping container (20ft, 40ft, or custom size).
Compared with traditional site-built generator rooms, containerized units offer fundamental differences:
Factory Prefabrication: All components are assembled, wired, and tested at the factory. On-site work is limited to lifting, positioning, and connecting cables and fuel lines.
Standardized Interfaces: Using standard container dimensions and corner castings, they are suitable for truck, rail, and ocean freight, making them ideal for overseas projects and remote locations.
Integrated Protection: The container enclosure provides IP54 or higher protection, allowing direct outdoor installation without additional construction.
This design makes containerized generator sets “mobile power plants,” suitable for both temporary emergency power and long-term prime power applications.

Enclosure Structure and Protection
Standard Dimensions: Primarily 20ft (approx. 6.1m) and 40ft (approx. 12.2m) standard containers, with custom high-cube or wide-body options available.
Ingress Protection: Standard IP54 (dustproof, rainproof), optional IP56 (protected against strong water jets) or higher for harsh environments such as coastal, desert, or cold regions.
Structural Strength: The container frame is optimized through finite element analysis to withstand lifting, stacking, and transport vibrations and impacts.
